Packaging Life Environmental Management Procedure
1. PURPOSE
The purpose of this procedure is to ensure the reduction of environmental impacts that may occur at the end of the life of plastic and tin packaging produced by our company, to guarantee environmentally friendly practices in recycling and disposal processes, and to meet the requirements.
2. SCOPE
This procedure covers all plastic and tin packaging products produced by our company, related logistics processes, customer information, and end-of-life management activities.
3. DEFINITIONS
Recycling: The process of reprocessing packaging waste into raw materials.
4. RESPONSIBILITIES
Environmental Management Unit: Responsible for the implementation and updating of this procedure.
Production: Takes environmental criteria into account in the design and material selection process.
Sales and Customer Management: Provides customers with information on recycling and waste management.
5. IMPLEMENTATION STEPS
5.1. Environmental Criteria in Product Design
Priority is given to the use of a single material. Lightweighting efforts are undertaken to prevent unnecessary material use. Emphasis is placed on the use of recycled raw materials in products where possible and suitable.
5.2. End-of-Life Environmental Impact Assessment
Post-use waste streams of products are analyzed. The existing recycling symbol and number 05 are applied for PP plastic packaging, and the recycling symbol and number 40 are applied for tin packaging. All of the products we use are recyclable.
5.3. Customer Information
Information and packaging MSDS information for end-of-life packaging are available on our company website.
5.4. Legal Obligations
GEKAP declarations are made.
Packaging is separated according to its type.
Heavy metal limitations within the scope of the regulation are complied with.
